Gas Storage Facilities

Wild Well is experienced in responding to well control emergencies at storage well systems and facilities. Our capabilities include emergency response, firefighting, relief well planning, pressure control, and leak mitigation services.

In addition, Wild Well has experience in providing various non-emergency services to assist the Storage Well Operator in mitigating risks specific to well control during storage well operations. These services include various planning, engineering, and advanced engineering services.

Well Control Emergency Response Plan (Blowout Contingency Plan)

  • Storage Field and Well Specific Site Addendums
  • Drills & Exercises
  • Storage Well Integrity Management Training
  • IADC Certified – Well Control Training
  • Risk Framework and Dashboard
  • Well Control Response Cards
  • Atmospheric Dispersion Analysis
  • Radiant Heat Analysis
  • Annular Access (Hot Tap)
  • Well Control and Relief Well Engineering Services
  • Wellhead Integrity Survey With Field Operator Training

Storage Well Operators can depend on Wild Well for both emergency response services in the event of a well control issue and for non-emergency services that can help identify and mitigate other concerns – either preventing an event or helping minimize the size of an event should one occur.

emergency response plan

It is imperative that Storage Well Operators be properly prepared to respond during an emergency event. An emergency response plan outlines the response methodologies and provides an organizational structure that will help ensure an effective response to any emergency. Our engineering group can work with the Storage Well Operator to develop an emergency response plan that is specific to the operation and will enhance the response efforts.

With an emergency response plan in place, it is important that the Storage Well Operator’s personnel are trained in the use of it – typically through the use of drills. Wild Well can provide assistance in conducting drills using actual response scenarios.

We can also provide incident management training to the executive team to ensure they respond properly to regulatory and media personnel.

engineering services

Wild Well offers well integrity audits which will identify concerns or issues with the wellhead – such as corrosion, inoperable equipment, leaking scenarios, etc. Based on the issues, the audits can prioritize the wells needing attention. We will also review the well sites and conduct preliminary planning should a relief well be needed. Identifying the location of the relief well can save valuable time in an emergency response.

With advanced engineering services, atmospheric (gas) dispersion modeling can be conducted identifying possible concerns during an event such as evacuation of populated areas. In the event of a fire at the well site, advanced engineering can model radiant heat to determine possible threats to other assets.

Storage Well Operators can depend on Wild Well for both emergency response services in the event of a well control issue and for non-emergency services that can help identify and mitigate other concerns – either preventing an event or helping minimize the size of an event should one occur.
