Name: Jack Nedrum

Role: Managing Director Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan & West Africa

Location: Stavanger, Norway

Q: How long have you been with Wild Well Control?

I joined Wild Well Control in 2011 as Senior Technical advisor as part of the company’s international expansion in Europe through the establishment of offices in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Stavanger, Norway.

I then became responsible for the business development activity in the European region. From there, my remit grew to include Russia, Kazakhstan, and West Africa.

As Managing Director with overall responsibility for the region, my role is to direct and control all business operations. Our aim is to achieve our set goals locally, internationally, and with our Houston headquarters.

Q: Can you describe your industry experience?

I’ve worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 35 years and have developed expertise in drilling technology and management over that time.

After leaving the Norwegian Army, I joined an offshore drilling contractor on operations in the North Sea. I then moved on to hydraulic workover, snubbing, and well control operations. From there I expanded into global drilling, fishing, and remedial operations before returning to well control.

Q: What trends are you seeing in the industry?

New technologies are emerging at a fast pace and the industry overall is responding well to changes in operating environments.

There is a greater focus today on clean energy and processes such as CO2 injection and plugging and abandonment (P&A). Wild Well Control is following these market trends closely. I believe our services will be required for decades to come with exploration drilling activity, gas storage operations, in-field drilling, the ongoing production of oil and gas,, intervention, and P&A operations.

Q: What differentiates Wild Well?

Our strength is our people - their work ethic, competence, and technical skills in all the services we provide.

We take pride in what we do and respect our clients. Despite the challenges and restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic, increased digitalization has meant we’ve still been able to effectively support our clients in responding to their needs.

As a company, we support global activity around the clock with offices and equipment strategically positioned around the world.

Q: What excites you about working for Wild Well Control?

I feel honored to work for such a great company and I’m excited by the potential of our employees who have the proven ability to respond and adjust to our changing industry. I’ve made lifetime friends and it’s always a pleasure to work alongside them.
